We like to support community events in Devon where we can and this weekend we’ve sponsored two events. On Sunday we were delighted to see so many smiling faces and lots of laughter at the Annual Bideford Cardboard Boat Regatta. Anyone can take part and there were races for adults and children. It was clear to see that racers had put lots of time and effort into creating their cardboard crafts. But the thousands of people who lined the Quay to watch were waiting to see how many of the boats would sink! As you can see from our video there were plenty of boats that didn’t survive the race. These included a team called ‘The Floaters’ made up of students who had been with us at Atlas Packaging recently on work experience. The lads made a boat while they were with us, even designing it on computer. But it was a learning experience for them as they sank within 50 metres of the start line!
