Voyager Coffee is a “multi-award-winning coffee-hub” based at the edge of Dartmoor, in Devon. Inspired by the rugged landscape and beautiful coastline of Dartmoor, Voyager Coffee has been supplying an array of great blends and single-origin coffees for many years.
Starting as a “one-man startup,” they now supply coffee to wholesale businesses across the Southwest and for people to brew and enjoy at home. As they send their quality coffee by post, packaging plays a vital part in what they do.

Sturdy in every way
Voyager Coffee came to Atlas Packaging in need of strong, sturdy and reliable Fully Enclosed and eCommerce Postal Packs for their coffee. With the average Voyager Coffee order holding 10kg of coffee, the team were in search of boxes that were strong and sturdy enough for the contents and could withstand the trials of transit.
Since 2018, Voyager Coffee has been focusing on making the food industry more sustainable by using eco-friendly packaging, and the business itself uses 100% compostable packaging for its coffee. As the coffee is packaged in compostable bags, the integrity of the box mustn’t be compromised at any point along the supply chain. The bags need to stay dry to ensure they don’t deteriorate during shipping, as it will affect the quality of the coffee.
We understood Voyager Coffee’s need for reliable, protective and secure boxes and got to work creating a packaging solution designed to keep their coffee safe and protected every step of the way.
Quality coffee calls for quality packaging
At Atlas Packaging, we know that corrugated cardboard packaging works well for coffee companies, but we also know that no two brands are exactly the same. We worked closely with Voyager Coffee to design their eCommerce postal boxes from start to finish, taking their unique requirements into account.
We focussed on ensuring the boxes were the perfect fit for their coffee packs but were also strong enough to ship the coffee from A to B without being compromised.
The boxes provide the perfect balance of protection for the product while ensuring a good unboxing experience for home coffee brewers with internal and external print. Not only does this innovate and improve Voyager Coffee’s ecommerce offering, but it makes the unboxing experience as rewarding as possible when customers receive their orders.
We also decided on a strengthened fully enclosed box for their wholesale customers.
