Captain Tom 100 challenge for Chemohero

On Saturday (2nd May) our box maker Leah took inspiration from Captain Sir Tom Moore’s family to celebrate what would have been his 101st birthday and complete a 100 challenge. Leah decided to cycle a hundred miles on her pushbike, no mean feat as she isn’t a regular cyclist and her bike wasn’t designed for this sort of distance.

But with some help from colleagues at Atlas who cycled sections of the Tarka Trail with her, Leah completed the challenge in around 10 hours raising more than £2000 for the charity Chemohero.

Here’s a video of her finishing her epic cycle. If you’d like to donate you can do so here.

A box of kindness

Chemohero is Atlas Packaging’s charity of the year for 2021. The charity supplies what they describe as boxes of kindness to cancer patients receiving their first round of chemotherapy at North Devon District Hospital.

The boxes, made by Atlas Packaging in Barnstaple, are filled with essential items and goodies that are of use to patients. The charity was created by Lisa Wallis (pictured here with Leah) along with her husband Rob.

More details of the charity can be found here.
