FLOWER BOXES AND FLOWER PACKAGING PRODUCTS
Flowers, bouquets and potted plants are extremely difficult products to transport due to their delicate nature, as well as their requirement of soil and water to keep the product alive. Atlas Packaging’s design team have created a number of innovative flower boxes and flower packaging solutions to combat these issues.
Our talented design team of four structural designers and two graphical designers work closely with the client to ensure that their flower boxes and flower packaging is not only extremely protective of its contents, but also adds a wow factor for the consumer, emphasising the luxury and sentiment of the product. Our team work a dedicated CAD system for the structural design of corrugated packaging.
Structural integrity is extremely important throughout Atlas Packaging’s product line, but is of particular importance for products as delicate as flowers. Great emphasis is put into ensuring the strength of flower boxes, and we take care to consider the materials we use to surround the flowers during transit. Our flower packaging includes innovative design features such as boxes that will retain plants and water if the package falls over or is inverted. The use of high grade corrugated cardboard offers strength and resilience to knocks and drops.
HIGH IMPACT, BRANDED FLOWER PACKAGING
We understand that the immediate impression the flower packaging presents to the customer when the flowers or bouquet is delivered is of vital importance. Atlas Packaging will ensure that the flower packaging communicates luxury and high quality through the use of design and print features which can be achieved using any one of our lithoprint, silk screen printing and flexo post print facilities, all of which use water based inks.
An example of our bespoke flower packaging includes producing corrugated containers for clients Interflora, whose flower boxes are finished in a deep glossy black print with gold embellished logo, indicating the luxury and quality of the brand.
Atlas Packaging’s Luxury Hex Box for Interflora was recognised in the 2011 Starpack Industry Awards, scooping Silver in the “Luxury, Promotional & Giftware” category, as well as Bronze in the “Consumer Distribution Packaging (Business 2 Consumer)” category. The Starpack awards are the UK packaging industry's most prestigious and long-standing awards scheme, with annual presentations to packaging companies that show innovation, environmentally sound credentials, and champion the needs of the customer.
A requirement from the “Hairy Pot Plant” company for Atlas Packaging included packaging for their coir pots (appropriately named ‘Transplant’) which would ensure that the soil would be retained during transit. This was achieved with the use of specially designed quick-assembly flower pot packaging created from corrugated cardboard with voids to house the pots. When the box is folded shut, the tops of pots are covered with a cardboard lid which acts as a retainer to keep the soil in place. Our design for “Hairy Pot Plant” has received a silver award in the ‘Best Component’ Starpack Award category, as well as a bronze award in the ‘Best Transit Pack’” category for innovation and environmentally-sound use of recycled card.
Atlas Packaging use lean manufacturing methods to ensure cost effective packaging solutions for clients, using FSC-certified renewable sources in all of our processes.
